The Occasion
Hannah has years of experience in providing solo Cello music for a variety of occasions internationally, including weddings, corporate functions, funerals and other private events. Hannah has performed at exclusive London venues such as The National Gallery, Sotheby's, The Savoy and The Mandarin. Recent engagements include playing for an outdoor memorial service at Highgate Cemetery and performing at a 50th birthday party in Turkey.
The Instrument
The Cello has one of the broadest pitch ranges of all the instruments, from the low resonant bass notes to the more melodic high notes. It is also a versatile instrument, capable of many sound effects, such as plucking and tapping the strings, as well as being played conventionally with the bow. The solo Cello is an ideal way to enhance your special occasion, providing an unusual and inexpensive alternative to the traditional String Quartet.
The Repertoire
The Cello repertoire is vast, from early music including Bach’s Solo Cello Suites, through to Romantic pieces, such as Saint-Saëns’ The Swan, from The Carnival of The Animals and works like contemporary works, such as Gershwin's Summertime.
